With the release of their highly anticipated collaboration album 'Tall Tales', we are delighted to have Global Communication producer MARK PRITCHARD and Radiohead frontman THOM YORKE on the cover of the new issue of Electronic Sound. 'Tall Tales' has a hint of the golden era of Warp Records and a bit of ‘OK Computer’-esque digital anxiety, but it feels like a haunted storybook for these increasingly strange times, playing out as a cryptic fable of the modern condition. Think the Brothers Grimm meets ‘Black Mirror’.
We have a dazzling MARK PRITCHARD & THOM YORKE seven-inch to accompany this month's magazine. A limited edition pressing on turquoise vinyl, the A-side is 'The Men Who Dance In Stag's Heads', which is perhaps the most intriguing cut on the pair's album. Yorke sings in a low voice, a notable departure from his distinctive falsetto, his delivery almost spoken word, while Pritchard’s music is characterised by bassoons and the drone of a harmonium, together with slow, hypnotic, Velvet Underground-style drums. Flip the disc over for an instrumental version of the track which can't be heard anywhere else.
As with all our magazine-linked music releases, this seven-inch is only available to readers of Electronic Sound, so make sure you grab your copy right away.
