Thomas Dolby is back! And as well as putting him on the cover of this month’s Electronic Sound, we are releasing an exclusive blue vinyl seven-inch featuring two fantastic tracks from ‘The Flat Earth’, his dazzling 1984 album. 

The A-side of our record is the irresistible pop masterpiece ‘Hyperactive!’, which was first issued as a single shortly before ‘The Flat Earth’ came out, giving Dolby his biggest hit in the UK. Four decades on, he still calls it ‘‘a real earworm’’. It's backed by the superb ‘Mulu The Rain Forest’, an atmospheric soundscape bringing together organic instrumentation with what was then revolutionary technology. Dolby came up with the track after reading a book of the same title written by a British explorer about his journeys through the Malaysian jungle.
