Digital Edition of Electronic Sound Issue 98

We've got the fabulously outspoken Sleaford Mods on the cover of this month's Electronic Sound.

The new Sleaford Mods album, 'UK Grim', finds frontman Jason Williamson reaching fresh heights of rage at the world around him. His cohort Andrew Fearn is on fire too, creating an intense musical backdrop of barbed electronics and driving beats. The pair talk about the album in our hugely entertaining interview with them, which also takes in subjects ranging from free market capitalism to rockery mantelpieces by way of The Haçienda, King Kong and TikTok. Or “dogshit” as Jason calls the popular social media platform. Oh yes, we had better warn you there's a spectacular amount of swearing in the Sleaford Mods article.

As well as our cover story, we also speak with Adi Newton following the release of the first Clock DVA studio album for 30 years and ask Alexander Tucker about his posthumous collaboration with Keith Collins, Derek Jarman’s long-time partner. Our other features this issue include Ben Frost, Andy Votel, and a double-bubbler with Castles In Space artists Polypores and Field Lines Cartographer. Plus, of course, we've our usual regulars and columns, with David Bowie, Lemon Jelly and Eyeless In Gaza in the spotlight. Did you know that Bowie wrote for an art magazine in the 1990s, interviewing the likes of Tracey Emin and Jeff Koons? Read all about it in Electronic Sound!
