Alongside his Cluster work, Hans-Joachim Roedelius’s solo career has been a fecund wonder of sound worlds. ‘Wenn Der Südwind Weht’ is the seventh Roedelius solo album and was released in 1981. It continued the slow pulse of ambient and beautiful tones he contributed to Cluster, and was composed with an organ and synthesiser. Another essential recording in the ambient story, with the title track nestling on our ‘Ambient Light / Ambient Dark’ compilation with this month’s bundle.
