The dry description of this extraordinary new artist goes something like: e.m.arson, aka Emmally Parsons, is a UK-based experimental electronic artist working across electroacoustic composition, sound design, and performance with a practice merging field recordings, synthesisers, guitar, discarded materials, and poetry to create immersive, textural sound worlds. But that doesn’t do it justice. e.m.arson is a total artwork, with live shows that cross boundaries between sound art and dream pop, DJ sets of classic electronica, and an approach to composition placed somewhere between William Basinksi and the Cocteau Twins. It’s all driven by a fierce independent and DIY approach, with rich narratives weaved into the beguiling sound. For this limited edition exclusive release from the Electronic Sound in-house label, all pre-orders will come with a one-off signed photograph, taken by Emmally. As Emmally says: “The photos are snapshots from my life over the past few months while making this record.
