Japanese electronic pioneers YMO’s second album was released in 1979 and sold a staggering two million copies, making it one of the most significant synthnpop albums of all time. The combined talents of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi made for a unique electronic style with a depth and richness that makes it sound very bit as urgent and forward-thinking now as it did nearly 50 years ago.
